Connect CallOptix to ChatGPT.

Bring your calls, customer feedback, and team insights into your ChatGPT conversations.

Documentation reviewed

Before you start

  • An active CallOptix administrator account with a verified email address.
  • MCP access enabled for that account. Ask your CallOptix administrator if you are unsure.
  • Calls available in your CallOptix workspace to try your first question.

For ChatGPT: Use ChatGPT on the web with a Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Education account. Your workspace may require an administrator to allow developer-mode apps.

Connect your account.

  1. 1

    Enable Developer mode

Open ChatGPT in your browser. Go to Settings → Security and login, then turn on Developer mode.

If the option is missing, check your plan and workspace permissions. Use the official instructions below if your interface differs.

Open ChatGPT (opens in a new tab)
  2. 2

    Add CallOptix as an app

Open Plugins and select the plus button to create a developer-mode app. Name it CallOptix, enter the server URL below, and choose OAuth authentication.

    MCP server URL
    https://mcp.calloptix.com/mcp

Use dynamic client registration (DCR) if a registration method is requested. You do not need to enter a client ID or client secret for this setup.

Open ChatGPT Plugins (opens in a new tab)
  3. 3

    Sign in to CallOptix

Follow the authorization flow to CallOptix. Sign in with your verified CallOptix administrator account, review the requested access, and approve the connection. Return to ChatGPT when authorization finishes.

Enter your CallOptix credentials only on mcp.calloptix.com. Do not paste passwords or access tokens into a chat.

  4. 4

    Select CallOptix in a conversation

Start a new conversation. Open the plus menu, choose Developer mode, and select your CallOptix app. Your new app may appear under Drafts in app settings.

Adding the app and selecting it for the conversation are separate steps. Review tool confirmations when ChatGPT asks.

Your first question

Make sure you’re connected.

Paste this into your assistant after connecting CallOptix.

Test prompt
Use CallOptix to show my five most recent calls.

What to expect: Your assistant should use a CallOptix tool and return the latest calls available to your account. Review any tool confirmation it presents.

No calls returned? Check that your workspace has data. An empty result can be valid; an authentication or access error needs the troubleshooting steps below.

A little help

If something gets stuck.

I can’t find the option to add a connector.

Check the supported plan and workspace permissions in your assistant’s guide. ChatGPT requires Developer mode for this custom setup. Claude Team and Enterprise require an organization owner to add the connector first. Interface labels can change; use the linked official instructions for the latest controls.

CallOptix says MCP access is not enabled.

Ask your CallOptix administrator to enable MCP access for your account. Creating a connector does not enable account access. If you are the administrator and need help enabling it, contact CallOptix through the contact link below.

My account is not eligible to connect.

The current release requires an active CallOptix administrator account with a verified email address and MCP access enabled. Verify your email in CallOptix if prompted. Agent accounts cannot connect in this release; contact your administrator if your account is archived.

Sign-in or authorization fails.

Use your CallOptix email and password on the CallOptix sign-in page. Confirm the server URL matches this guide, restart the connection from your assistant, and finish the authorization flow. If you have forgotten your password, use the CallOptix app’s password reset flow. Contact us with the error message and assistant name if it still fails; never send your password or tokens.

The connection is added, but my assistant does not use it.

Enable CallOptix for the current conversation in ChatGPT or Claude. In a local Codex client, check /mcp and complete authentication if needed. Start a new conversation and explicitly ask it to use CallOptix. Refresh the app’s tools or reconnect if your assistant reports stale tools.

The first question returns no calls.

A successful connection can return an empty result when no calls are available to your account. Confirm you can see calls in CallOptix, then ask for a date range you know contains calls. Results depend on your workspace data, permissions, and enabled features.

How do I disconnect?

Disable or remove CallOptix in your assistant’s connector or MCP server settings. Ask your CallOptix administrator to disable your account’s MCP access if you need to stop its access across clients.
